MS Dhoni proved his worth yet again in the third match of the ongoing 5-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. India lost 4 wickets and it was MS Dhoni, who steadied the ship along with Rohit Sharma, who scored a brilliant hundred and answered all his critics with his bat.

But, MS Dhoni, with two match-winning contributions has put all his critics and doubters to rest. After he stepped down from captaincy, media and critics have been mounting pressure on him to do well. His very innings is analysed very closely and his failure is used to question his spot in the team by critics.

But, now that MS Dhoni has given two very responsible performance under pressure, it would be just fair to say that he deserves a lot of respect for the way he batted under pressure in both the matches and helped India seal two crucial victories in the series.

We usually talk about Dhoni as a dasher and finisher but his ability to calm the storm and steady the ship by absorbing all the pressure is one of his biggest strengths. In this young side, MS Dhoni plays the role of a mentor, too.

Check out these 3 records:

MS Dhoni Is Still Breaking Records And Trolling His Critics

No batsman has more ODI not outs than MS Dhoni. After his 67 not out in the third match, MS Dhoni now has 72 not outs. Shaun Pollock and Chaminda Vaas also have 72 not outs in ODI cricket.

With an average of 101.84, MS Dhoni is the only batsman to have an average of over 100 in successful ODI chases among all players (minimum 1000 runs).

MS Dhoni now has 9,434 ODI runs. During his innings, he overtook former Indian captain Mohammed Azharrudin in the lost of all time leading run scorers for India in ODI cricket. Only Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid ahead of him. Now, this is one of this biggest individual achievements.
