MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings suffered a 6-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in their last league match of the ongoing 2023 season of the Indian Premier League at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (May 14). Because of this defeat, CSK’s chances of reaching the IPL 2023 playoffs are now in serious doubt.

CSK would need to get better of Delhi Capitals in the last match of the IPL 2023 in order to confirm a place in the playoffs. The game between CSK and KKR at the Chepauk was also CSK’s last home game of the ongoing season and to watch Dhoni and his men, the fans arrived in massive numbers.

Notably, Chennai is scheduled to host the first qualifier and eliminator match on May 23 and 24, respectively, but the game against KKR could be the last time Dhoni played at Chepauk.

MS Dhoni Turns Up Speaker After Loud Roar From Fans

Meanwhile, after the end of the game, there were huge chants for Dhoni and the atmosphere in the stadium was exhilarating that it even interrupted Dhoni’s post-match conversation as well.

Well, according to the ritual, the losing captain speaks to the commentators right after the game. Therefore, when Dhoni approached the mic and commentators Simon Doull asked his first question, fans went berserk and Doull’s voice was nullified by the loud roar of the Dhoni fans. The CSK captain was left in splits.

Reacting to the loud roar by the fans, Dhoni first signaled that he couldn’t hear what Doull said then he moved closer to the speaker. Dhoni was caught increasing the volume of the speaker. Doull once again asked the question amid the ‘Dhoni’ chants but this time the CSK captain was able to hear the question and he responded by saying, “I can hear you now.”

The video of the hilarious incident has been going viral on the internet. Watch it here:
