Former India skipper and the current CSK captain, MS Dhoni, was seen celebrating the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission on Wednesday.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)’s spacecraft made a successful soft landing on the south pole of the moon, becoming the first-ever country to land on the moon’s south pole, on Wednesday evening at 06.04 IST.

The entire country erupted in great joy and jubilation at this historic event that was telecasted worldwide and received great applause from Indians all over the world. This was even more special as the ISRO scientists have had to make a comeback from the setback they had faced in 2019 when the mission had failed in its last stage.

MS Dhoni was apparently at his gym in Ranchi in the evening when this event unfolded on a television at the gym. A fan made a video of MS Dhoni smiling and acknowledging the success of India’s scientists and the video went viral. The revered, adored ‘Thala’ of everyone can be seen clapping his right hand on his thigh along with the other members of the gym.

Not too long before this video had gone viral, MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi had posted a video of their daughter Ziva celebrating the Chandrayaan 3 moonlanding victory from their home.

The two senior-most current India players, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both of whom are at the NCA ahead of the Asia Cup, also took to Twitter to hail this great achievement by ISRO.

“Many congratulations to the #Chandrayaan3 team. You have made the nation proud 🇮🇳 Jai Hind!” Virat Kohli tweeted.

Rohit Sharma tweeted: “The 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 to reach the lunar south pole. That’s got a nice ring to it A proud moment for each one of us & a big congratulations to @isro for all their efforts.”

Speaking of MS Dhoni, the CSK captain is currently rehabbing, and recovering from a knee surgery he had undergone in June, soon after taking CSK to their 5th IPL trophy. MS Dhoni is set to feature in the IPL next year, despite being aged 42.
