Naveen-ul-Haq Makes A Fresh Remark Against Virat Kohli

Controversy erupted in the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League earlier this month when  Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq were involved in an on-field spat during the high-voltage match between LSG and RCB on May 1st. RCB went on to defeat Lucknow away from home but the game saw tempers flare at the end.

Kohli and Naveen came face-to-face with each other during the match and after the game as well. Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir intervened and had an ugly spat with Virat Kohli. KL Rahul, who was carrying a thigh injury, had to intervene and separate the two.

Ever since the controversy, both the cricketers have been actively sharing cryptic posts which fans speculate were targeted towards one another.

Amidst the exchanges on social media, the Lucknow Super Giants via their official social media handle shared a video of a fun conversation between their pacers Naveen and Avesh Khan, where they talk about their time at LSG. The duo also touched upon certain anecdotes over their cricketing career.

During the conversation, Avesh Khan opens up a chit that has a question on whether Naveen sledged someone on the field. Following this, the duo breaks into a laugh, seemingly because of the recent incident that took place during LSG’s game against RCB earlier this month. However, Naveen insisted that he has never sledged anyone “upfront.” He further recalled an incident from his first-class game. He said:

“I don’t sledge someone upfront, It’s not my habit. There’s an incident from a first-class game. I was on the non-striker’s end and the batter on strike got sledged. The fielder on the silly point was newly married. He said, ‘It’s the last wicket, let’s finish this quickly, I need to go home and finish some work, I just got married yesterday. This was a funny incident that happened,”
