On Saturday (April 13), Nepal’s cricket star player Dipendra Singh Airee created history by becoming the first cricketer from his country to hit six sixes in an over in a T20 international match. He’s only the third player ever to achieve this rare feat in T20 cricket.

During Nepal’s ACC Men’s Premier Cup match against Qatar in Al Amerat, Dipendra smashed six sixes in a single over. This impressive display happened in the last over of the match.

In the final over bowled by Kamran Khan, Dipendra Singh Airee smashed each delivery for a stunning maximum, helping Nepal to reach a total of 210 for 7 at the end of their innings. The 24-year-old ended his innings with an impressive 64 runs off just 21 balls. Besides Dipendra, opener Aashif Sheikh also contributed with a fifty for Nepal.

Dipendra Singh Airee has joined an elite group of cricketers by becoming only the third player in international T20 cricket history to hit six sixes in a single over. The first cricketer to achieve this remarkable record was India’s World Cup hero, Yuvraj Singh, who smashed hit England’s Stuart Broad for six sixes during the 2007 T20 World Cup.

In 2021, former West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard became the second player to accomplish this incredible feat. He smashed Sri Lanka’s Akila Dananjaya for six sixes in an over.

You’re absolutely right! Herschelle Gibbs was indeed the first player to hit six sixes in an over in international cricket. He accomplished this during a 2007 ODI World Cup match between South Africa and the Netherlands. Additionally, Jaskaran Malhotra from the USA has also achieved this feat in ODIs.

Talking about Dipendra Singh Airee, the star cricketer has impressed one and all with his batting prowess and six-hitting abilities in the past as well. Last year, he hit six consecutive sixes, although they were spread across two overs. This remarkable achievement took place during a game between Nepal and Mongolia in the Asian Games. Dipendra’s ability to hit sixes is certainly impressive and noteworthy!
