The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) owner Kaviya Maran had her first wishlist fulfilled as she roped in Travis Head in the IPL 2024 auction for INR 6.8 crore.

Travis Head has been in red-hot form since last year and has walked into the Australian folklore in 2023. He was the Man of the Match in Australia’s win in the WTC Final vs India, the World Cup 2023 semi-final vs South Africa, and the final vs India.

Head was part of the IPL in the 2016 and 2017 seasons, playing for RCB, but didn’t have any notable contribution. His stunning form in 2023, especially in the World Cup 2023 in India, forced SRH and CSK to bid for Head. SRH and CSK were the only two teams who bid for Head because almost all teams have their opening combination very settled.

It remains a bit baffling to the fans that SRH went hard after Head despite already having the likes of Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Tripathi, Abhishek Sharma, and Aiden Markram as their top 4.

Anyway, Travis Head will enjoy his hefty paycheck of INR 6.8 crore from SRH.
