Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly is one of the most successful skippers of India. It has only last year when he became the President of BCCI but he has taken many important decisions already.
Lately, there have been rumors that Sourav Ganguly is going to join BJP after he returned the piece of land that was given to him to build a school in Kolkata’s rapidly developing eastern metropolis, New Town.
Netizens Are Speculating That Sourav Ganguly Will Join The BJP
Well, with the est Bengal Assembly elections due next year, the BJP is currently looking for a credible face as the face of CM candidate and Sourav Ganguly seems like the most perfect face for the same. He recently met Mamata Banerjee, the CM of West Bengal at her office to return a two-acre land that was provided to him by the Trinamool Congress government.
A senior bureaucrat was quoted as saying by Outlook:  “Sourav Ganguly had earlier received land from the erstwhile Left Front government to build a school but the cricket star never got hold of that piece of real estate in Salt Lake due to legal problems”
The news outlet also quoted sources as saying that a letter from the “Ganguly Educational And Welfare Society,” had been delivered to the state government saying it wanted to return a disputed property that was given to him by the Mamata Banerjee government.

That Ganguly letter has now been accepted and the file transferred to the finance department, said people in the know of things.
Sourav Ganguly’s equation with Mamata Banerjee is well known. She was behind Sourav Ganguly’s elevation as the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal
Sourav Ganguly’s decision to return the land is sending out all the wrong signals as far as his relations with Mamata Banerjee is concerned.
Last year, Sourav Ganguly had denied any political ambition in an interview with Outlook in November last year. “There was no political barter in becoming BCCI president,” Ganguly said, adding his “popularity in Bengal was built on trust and goodness he won as a cricketer and later as a host of a popular reality show on TV.”
Well, only time will tell if Sourav Ganguly wants to join BJP or not.
