New York Set To Host India vs Pakistan Clash In T20 World Cup 2024

In a big news coming out for cricket fans in the United States of America (USA) is that New York is is line to host the epic clash between arch-rivals India vs Pakistan in next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The ICC on Wednesday confirmed that three cities in the USA – Dallas, Florida and New York – will be hosting matches in the T20 WC 2024.

In 2021, the ICC had awarded the West Indies and the USA to co-host the T20 World Cup 2024. The ICC wants to bring cricket to the USA to tap in the immense believed potential of the market in the USA and also to have cricket feature in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games (LA28).

The stadiums in the USA that have been chosen are Grand Prairie in Dallas, Broward County in Florida, and Nassau County in New York.

In New York, the 930-acre Eisenhower Park, where the stadium will be built, is about 30 miles east of Manhattan. Cricbuzz has reported that New York is also most likely to host the India against Pakistan clash.

New stadium to be built in New York to host India vs Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2024

A decision has been confirmed for the construction of a 34,000-seater stadium in Eisenhower Park in Nassau County, New York.

The T20 World Cup 2024 will see 20 teams participate in the tournament – the most number of teams ever in an ICC senior men’s World Cup.

ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said: “We’re delighted to announce the three USA venues that will host part of the biggest ICC Men’s T20 World Cup ever staged, with 20 teams competing for the trophy. The USA is a strategically important market and these venues give us an excellent opportunity to make a statement in the world’s biggest sport market.”

“We explored a number of potential venue options in the country, and we were hugely encouraged by the enthusiasm the event generated amongst prospective hosts, reinforcing the growing awareness around cricket’s massive fanbase and its power to unite diverse communities.”

The USA had hosted the first season of the Major League Cricket (MLC) this year which received great support and crowd attendance from the public in the USA. The India vs Pakistan encounter will bring more public of the USA into cricket.
