The New Zealand cricket team has been receiving praises from all corners as they won the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship title. The Kiwis led by Kane Williamson defeated the Indian cricket team by 8 wickets in the final clash on Day 6 at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.

Though both the teams were neck-to-neck in the major part of the final clash, however, Kane Williamson led side outperformed India and emerged out victorious in the mega-event. The Kiwi players displayed resilience, dedication, and hunger to win the game, throughout the six days of the WTC Final.

Meanwhile, cricketers, experts, and fans around the world were delighted with the results as the New Zealand cricket team finally clinched their maiden ICC title. Among many, the Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern was also thrilled with her side putting up a stellar show.

In a statement, Jacinda stated that the Kiwi players have made the entire nation proud. She also appreciated the NZ team for the brand of cricket, they have played. He said:

“The Blackcaps have made New Zealand proud. This was a masterful performance from a team at the top of their game and on top of the world. Kane Williamson and the team leaders have built a brilliant and humble squad who has become an inspiration to many New Zealanders,”

She added:

“Over a number of years now we have seen the development of a team and team culture that has taken New Zealand cricket to world-beating heights. This victory is the well-deserved culmination of that work. We look forward to welcoming the team home and celebrating their success,”
