Rohit Sharma Fans Are Angry As Star Sports Ignored India Captain In Asia Cup Promo – The Asia Cup 2023 will get underway on August 30 with the official hosts Pakistan hosting Nepal in the first match of this continental tournament. The Asia Cup 2023, which is the 16th edition of the tournament, will be played in a hybrid model across Pakistan and Sri Lanka in four cities: Multan, Lahore, Colombo, and Kandy.

The official Asia Cup broadcaster in India are Star Sports who released their promo for the tournament today. However, the fans of Rohit Sharma are angry with Star Sports because there was no clip of Rohit Sharma in a 1-minute promo video while Virat Kohli got some screen time.

Virat Kohli is no doubt one of the biggest sporting brands in the world, but ignoring Rohit Sharma, who is also a big celebrity and, importantly, the Indian team skipper, didn’t sit right with the fans of the Indian captain.

Rohit Sharma was nowhere to be seen in the 1-minute Asia Cup promo video that Star Sports released on Monday.

This absence of Rohit Sharma in Asia Cup promo irked his fans who slammed Star Sports:

“Indian Team is not about Virat Kohli you could have included others too in the promo,” wrote one user.

Another wrote, “This is disgusting no matter which player is brand ambassador of star sports or jio cinema you should respect the Indian captain, We don’t have any problem with promo, but putting Virat in captain’s poster is showing ur level.”

Here, check out some more reactions of Rohit Sharma’s fans on this promo:

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both are currently rested from the ongoing T20I series against the West Indies. They both also took rest from the 2nd and 3rd ODI against West Indies.

India will kick-start their Asia Cup 2023 campaign on 2nd September against Pakistan, followed by taking on Nepal on 4th September. If India and Pakistan both qualify for Super 4, knocking out Nepal, they will meet in Super 4 on September 10 in Colombo. Should India and Pakistan finish in the top 2 in Super 4, the arch-rivals would then clash once again in the Final, on September 17 in Colombo.
