Virat Kohli vs. Naveen-ul-Haq: The countdown for Asia Cup 2023 is on. The marquee tournament is all set to kickstart in a couple of days. The fans were eagerly waiting for the Virat Kohli vs Naveen-ul-Haq clash in the upcoming tournament, however, the clash won’t happen in Asia Cup 2023.

Yes, the tussle between Afghanistan’s Naveen-ul-Haq and India’s Virat Kohli lit up the Indian Premier League (IPL), not too long ago, will not continue in the Asia Cup 2023, for which the fans were waiting as unfortunately, Naveen will miss out from Afghanistan’s squad for the Asia Cup.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has recently unveiled their 17-member squad for the impending Asia Cup 2023, scheduled to be held from August 30 to September 17. The Afghanistan side will make changes from the side that took on Pakistan in the ODI series that recently concluded.

Naveen-ul-Haq, who has enjoyed a vast experience playing all over the world in franchise cricket, has been dropped from the Afghanistan squad for the marquee tournament.

Apart from Naveen-ul-Haq, Shahidullah Kamal and Wafadar Momand are others who will be missing from Afghanistan’s squad for the highly anticipated tournament. Afghanistan’s squad will be featuring a strong spin attack with the likes of Rashid Khan, Mohammed Nabi, Noor Ahmed, and Mujeeb ur Rahman. Talking about the pace attack, Fazalhaq Farooqi will be leading the pacers line-up along with former skipper Gulbadin Naib as well as Janat, Abdul Rahman, and Mohammad Saleem.

Afghanistan cricket team might not be the favorites to win the tournament but they will be eager to put up a strong fight in Asia Cup 2023.
