‘Not India But Pakistan..’: Mitchell Marsh Predicts Finalists Of World Cup 2023

Senior Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has made a bold prediction about the upcoming World Cup 2023 in India.

According to Mitchell Marsh, India won’t make it into the final of the WC 2023. Instead, Mitchell Marsh predicts it will be Pakistan and Australia who will face each other in the finals while the hosts India won’t make it to November 19 when the final of the tournament will be played in Ahmedabad.

If Mitchell Marsh’s prediction comes true, it will break the trend of the last three ODI World Cups being won by the host nation – India in 2011, Australia in 2015, and England in 2019. Seeing Pakistan in the final will also send shivers down the Indian fans as their arch-rivals would then be just one win away from a World Cup triumph on the Indian soil.

Mitchell Marsh stuns everyone with his World Cup 2023 predictions

Speaking on the Club Prairie Fire podcast hosted by Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan, Marsh was asked by Vaughan about his prediction of which two teams will reach the World Cup 2023 final.

Vaughan cheekily asked: “Who is going to win it? India, Pakistan, or England?”

Taking a deep breather, Mitchell Marsh answered: “I honestly think that it will be Australia vs Pakistan in the final.”

This surprised both Vaughan and Gilchrist as both of whom were perhaps expecting Marsh to predict an Australia vs India final.

Mitchell Marsh is going to be a key player in Australia’s XI in the World Cup 2023. He’s been in destructive form across white-ball and red-ball cricket this year.

Marsh has scored 647 international runs for Australia in 14 innings in 2023 across the three formats at an average of 64 with one century- which came in the Ashes 2023 – and 5 fifties.

The 31-year-old all-rounder recently got the chance to lead Australia in the T20I and ODI series in South Africa in the absence of the injured Pat Cummins. Under Mitchell Marsh, Australia clean swept South Africa 3-0 in the T20I series and took a 1-0 lead in the ODI series. On Saturday, then, Australia piled up a massive total of 392/8 in the 2nd ODI courtest of centuries from Warner and Labuschagne.
