The third T20I of the 5-match series will go down in the history books as one of the best games in the history of the shortest form of the game. India had the momentum by their side having won the first two T20Is of the series but, New Zealand had a splendid record at Hamilton hence, the Kiwis were not taken for granted in this match. Although Kane Williamson and co. were left heartbroken at the end of the night no one can deny the fact that they gave their 100 percent on the field.

Hamish Bennett’s magnificent bowling performance helped the home side restrict the Men in Blue to just 179 runs in 20 overs despite  Rohit Sharma’s whirlwind knock of 65 runs at the top. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli supported him to perfection but the other Indian batsman could not make much impact. The Indian bowlers also had an off day in the field as Jasprit Bumrah got hammered by the opposition batsmen.

Home skipper Kane Williamson played the best T20I innings of his career to guide New Zealand near to the total. He took the game to the final over and tried to finish it off in style like MS Dhoni. But, he nicked one of Mohammed Shami’s deliveries straight into the hands of KL Rahul. Tim Seifert came under immense pressure as he struggled to strike even a single ball. Ultimately, he changed ends with Ross Taylor courtesy of a bye.

Mohammed Shami later delivered the best yorker of his career to castle Ross Taylor and seal the match for India. The Indians have now secured their first ever T20I series win in New Zealand with an unassailable lead of 3-0. The Indian team may look to experiment a bit in the remaining two T20I matches versus the Black Caps.

Here are the 10 best tweets from the third T20I between New Zealand and India:

What an incredible win. Mohammad Shami exceptional to defend 2 of the last 4 balls in the main game and #RohitSharma showing once again why he is one of the most dangerous batsman in the world. A match to remember for a long long time #NZvIND pic.twitter.com/dkQQmQkwlU

In the regular match New Zealand needed two from four with Williamson on 95 not out and on strike and then in the Super Over they needed to defend ten off two. Somehow – somehow, they still managed to lose. #NZvIND
