ODI World Cup 2023: ICC Announces World Cup Warm-up Fixtures

On Wednesday, August 23, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the warm-up schedule for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which is set to be held in India. The ODI World Cup 2023 will kickstart on October 5 and will continue until November 19.

The ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to kickstart from October 5 with the battle between the last World Cup’s finalists – New Zealand and England – at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The final match of the marquee tournament will be held on November 19th at the same venue in Ahmedabad. High-voltage India vs Pakistan clash will also take place at the same venue on October 14th,

Meanwhile, the warm-up matches will be held in three Indian cities – Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Hyderabad – from September 29 to October 3. Each of the ten teams will play two warm-up fixtures across the four days.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has also revealed that the matches will begin at 2:00 pm IST. During these warm-up games, all ten teams are allowed to field all 15 members of their squads in order to prepare well for the main competition in India. Though, warm-up matches will be 50-overs-a-side, and will not carry ODI status.

Saturday 30 September

India v England, Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati

Australia v Netherlands, Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram

Monday 2 October

England v Bangladesh, Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati

New Zealand v South Africa, Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram

Tuesday 3 October

Afghanistan v Sri Lanka, Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati

India v Netherlands, Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram

Pakistan v Australia, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad
