“I’ve never seen a spell like Woody’s on that first morning,” Robinson began, recollecting his initial position at mid-off. The first few balls bowled by his teammate Mark Wood made him exclaim, “Jeez, that looks pretty quick…” As the over progressed, Wood’s intensity didn’t waver, leaving Robinson and others impressed.
Robinson shared how one of his teammates ran past him from the slip, telling him they were standing beyond his bowling mark. This observation reaffirmed the tremendous pace Wood was bowling at. He interpreted it as Labuschagne’s attempt to hide his discomfort, for the ball was too fast for him.
