India is one of the richest cricketing countries thanks to the massive interest that fans and players have alike. Owing to such a large population, there are a lot of players who play domestic cricket that is also funded by such a large fan base. Players who play domestic and international cricket get different pay packets and here is a breakdown:

Difference Between Salaries Of Ranji And International Cricketers

International cricket:

International cricketers come under a centralised scheme which is separated into Grades A, B and C. Based on which grade they come under, they are paid yearly salaries:

  • A Grade cricketers get an annual salary of INR 1 Crore every year.
  • B Grade cricketers get an annual salary of 50 lacs every year.
  • C Grade cricketers get an annual salary of 25 lacs every year.

The BCCI renews the contracts every year and players are removed or put into different brackets depending on their performances for the team.

Apart from this, international cricketers also get paid good amount as match fees. This is separated based on the format that they play:

  • For Tests, players are paid an amount of Rs. 7 lacs per game.
  • For ODIS, they receive Rs. 4 lacs per game.
  • For T20Is, they receive Rs. 2 lacs a game.

Apart from this, they also receive incentives for Man of the match, Overseas wins etc. So there is a lot of money that they make every year.

Ranji Trophy

Ranji players receive different salaries based on the team that they represent. It all depends on the board and they receive an amount that can vary from Rs. 4000 a day to Rs. 25000-30000 per match. On an average, a Ranji player can make anywhere between Rs. 7 to 12 lacs a year, which is a good amount considering the level that they are operating in.

It depends on teams however in the Ranji trophy.
