Virat Kohli has struggled to get going in the ongoing 4-match Test series against Australia so far. His form before his this series was one of the biggest reasons why fans and pundits gave 4-0 prediction in India’s favour, but, he has struggled against Australia’s bowling attack and this has had a huge impact.
It would be fair to say that despite of having many world class batsmen in their ranks, India rely heavily on Virat Kohli, across all three formats of the game. In the last 2 years or so, Kohli has taken his game to another level and established himself as the backbone of India’s batting unit.
Kohli’s lack of form has also given an opportunity to Australians fans to target him. Kohli has a habit of not mincing his words and saying things as he sees them. Even when India toured Australia, he was very aggressive in his press-conference and this didn’t go very well with the fans Down Under. In fact, on his first tour to Australia as a member of India’s Test team, Kohli showed the ‘middle finger’ to Australian fans.
In the second Test at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore, when Virat was walking back to the pavilion in the first innings, some Australian fans trolled him from their seats. Watch it here:
