England and Pakistan are gearing up for the 2nd Test match of the ongoing series, which is all set to take place in Multan on Thursday. England is touring Pakistan for the first time in 17 years and they made a powerful start to the series by registering a famous win over Pakistan in the series opener at Rawalpindi. The Ben Stokes-led side defeated Pakistan by 74 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series.

Now as all the focus has shifted to the second Test match, in a shocking turn of events,  gunshots were reportedly heard in Multan on Thursday. Yes, you read that right. Ahead of the 2nd Test match between Pakistan and England, gunshots were fired in Multan just near the England cricket team’s hotel. 

According to a report by PA NEWS AGENCY in Pakistan stated that shots were fired just 1 KM away from the hotel, where both the teams of Pakistan and England are staying in Multan. It has now emerged that the incident was a gang war and local police have made four arrests. The reports also made it clear that the troubling incident had no effect on the preparation of both teams for the second test match. As per a report filed by the Independent, the Pakistan police have made four arrests in the wake of the incident.  The England cricket team also went about their training session normally. The visitors have also been provided with a presidential security cover in the ongoing series.

Yes, PCB has arranged tight security in place for the entire series with roads completely shut while the two teams are traveling to and back from the stadium with police escort guiding the teams.

Talking about the 2nd Test match, England has included Mark Wood for the series decider against Pakistan. Mark is the only change made by the England cricket team for the 2nd Test against Pakistan, following their 74-run win over the hosts in Rawalpindi.

“Having someone in your squad who can bowl at 150 kph is a massive bonus for any team,” England captain Stokes told news agency AFP on Thursday. “Having someone of this caliber and what he brings, the way in which he bowls, is going to be massive for us. He is going to add to our ability to take 20 wickets,” he added.
