Pakistan and England are taking on each other in the ongoing much-talked first Test match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. As the game started, the visitors opted to bat first after winning the toss and got off to a breathtaking start. Openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett registered some stunning centuries as the tourists took the driver’s seat in the first session of the opening day.
Crawley and Duckett started smashing the Pakistani bowlers from ball one as the former raced to his fifty in just 38 balls, while the England cricket team touched the 100-run mark in 13.5 overs of their innings. On the other hand, Duckett made a stunning comeback to form as he made a fifty himself.
Pakistan bowlers were not up to the mark and they leaked runs. It has to be noted that Pakistan is missing the services of Shaheen Shah Afridi for the series with him yet to recover from the knee injury that he suffered in the T20 World Cup 2022 campaign. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf have been ineffective in the first two sessions of the game.
As the England openers smashed the Pakistani bowlers to all the corners of the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, which exposed Pakistan’s depleted bowling attack that was clueless, and to make things worse, the pitch is also not helping the bowlers in any way. Pakistan made a decent comeback later in the game as they picked up 3 wickets. However, the Ben Stokes side is way ahead in the game, having already amassed 332 runs.
