India’s experienced cricketer Dinesh Karthik heaped praises on the captain of the Pakistan cricket team during the third One-Day International between England and Pakistan on Tuesday.
Babar Azam, one of the world’s leading batsmen presently, became the quickest to 14 ODI centuries reaching the milestone in 81 innings at Edgbaston, Birmingham in the third ODI against England. Not just this, he also became the second Pakistani skipper to score an ODI century on English soil.
He also made a record of becoming the first Pakistani batsman to score three ODI hundreds in England and the first Pakistani batsman to score 150 runs in ODIs.
During the third One-Day International between England and Pakistan, Babar scored 158 runs in the match. His knock was laced with 14 fours and 4 sixes.
Azam’s century came after disappointing scores in the first two ODIs of the ongoing three-ODI series against England’s second-string side led by Ben Stokes. Azam registered scores of 0 and 19 in the first and second ODI respectively. However, in the third ODI match, Azam made a powerful comeback and scored 158 runs from 139 deliveries, which is also his personal best in the format.
All thanks to his powerful knock, the Pakistani skipper has been receiving praises from all the corners. Among many, Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik hailed Babar Azam’s brilliance and explained why Babar is one of the most sought-after batsmen among his contemporaries. After Azam’s century, DK said:
“World-class batters do not remain out of form for many matches. That is why Babar Azam is the best batsman in the world,”
