Naseem Shah, the 17-year-old Pakistani bowler is touted as the next big thing in the cricket world. The pacer has been making a lot of news these days ever since he broke into the national side during the Australian tour.

He rose to fame last year during the home series against Sri Lanka when he picked up a five-wicket haul in the Karachi Test and took his team to the victory. Recently, in an interview, Naseem Shah said that he has a lot of respect for Virat Kohli but he doesn’t fear to face him. He feels it will be a challenge for him to bowl the modern-legend. He said:

“As for Virat Kohli, I respect him but don’t fear him. It’s always a challenge to bowl to the best, but that’s where you have to raise your game. I look forward to playing against Virat Kohli and India whenever that chance comes,”

During the interview, Naseem Shah had expressed his eagerness to play against team India. He claimed that during the crucial matches between India and Pakistan, a player can emerge either as a hero or a villain. He claimed:

“Yes definitely. India versus Pakistan is always special and I have already been told that players can become heroes and villains in those matches. They are special matches as they happen so rarely and yes, I am looking forward to playing against India whenever that opportunity arises. I hope that I can bowl well against India when that chance comes by and won’t let our fans down,”

Retweeting a news article featuring the interview of Naseem Shah, former Pakistan international Faisal Iqbal has also opined on the battle between Naseem Shah and Virat Kohli. In his tweet, Faisal Iqbal claimed that with Naseem Shah’s pace and swing, Virat Kohli will become his bunny. He wrote:

“With due respect to Virat as a great batsman I am sure our upcoming superstar fast bowler @iNaseemShah with genuine pace and swing Virat will be his bunny anytime. Looking forward to the future battle,”
