Pakistan’s Naseem Shah Broke Into Tears While Receiving His Test Cap

In 2006, Virat Kohli taught us what dedication and passion are all about when he came out to bat just a day after his father’s death. Virat was playing a match for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy when his father had passed away due to a heart attack. But Virat Kohli returned to the field the very next day and went on to score 90 runs against Karnataka to save his team from a fallout.

And since then, there has been no turning back for him. He went on to become one of the greatest players now. Revealing what made him play a match just a day after his father’s death, Virat had once said:

“I called my coach in the morning. I said I wanted to play because for me not completing a cricket game is a sin”.

13 years later, Pakistan’s 16-years-old, Naseem Shah reminded us young Virat Kohli as he carries the same dedication and passion. Pakistan is currently locking horns with Australia in a Test series. Last week, Naseem Shah delivered an impressive spell against the Aussies in Perth last week, followed by which he was given two-Test ticket after delivering an impressive spell against the Aussies in Perth last week.

Amidst all the happiness and applauses, Naseem Shah was hiding all the pain and emotional trauma he is going through behind his smile. Naseem lost his mother back in Pakistan, and due to flight logistics and customs, it wasn’t possible for Naseem to fly back home in time to attend his mother’s funeral. So Naseem decided to stay back and play for his team.

He bowled eight overs, where he picked one wicket and gave 21 runs earning huge appreciation from the spectators, teammates, and coach.

Ahead of the match, Pakistan’s coach Waqar Younis, honored Naseem with the Test cap, Naseem couldn’t hold back his tears and broke down. Fans are moved after watching the video of Naseem bursting into tears after receiving the cap from the coach.

Welcome to harsh reality #NaseemShah Life is way different than we expect or think or analyse. You know better. Losing someone very personal few days ago and having a heartbreak on cricket ground. You will grow my friend. You are already a champion. #AusAvPAK

Emotional debut for Naseem Shah. In some way or the other, when we achieve something, we want our parents to be proud of us. His mother could not see him wear a Pakistan cap but InshAllah he will make her proud. #PAKvsAUS pic.twitter.com/3Z7SiSitBs
