The fans of Virat Kohli might have had their hearts stopping for a second when after seeing the picture of the cricketer’s latest social media post on Saturday morning, and they may have thought whether Kohli is retiring from the shortest format with a social media post as MS Dhoni retired a couple of years ago from international cricket.
Quickly, after going through the caption, fans realized that Kohli was reminiscing his epic knock against Pakistan at the MCG in the recently concluded 2022 T20 World Cup.
Kohli is currently on a rest from the New Zealand tour and will return to action on the Bangladesh tour next month.

The 34-year-old took to Instagram and Twitter to post a solo picture of himself soaking in all the emotions and looking at the crowd in raptures – which he’d consigned them to with his incredible knock – after India’s stunning, memorable win over Pakistan.
Virat Kohli had remained unbeaten after slamming 82* runs off 53 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes. He rated this knock even higher than the one against Australia in Mohali in a virtual quarter-final in the 2016 T20 WC “because of the magnitude of the game and what the situation was”.
“October 23rd 2022 will always be special in my heart. Never felt energy like that in a cricket game before. What a blessed evening that was,” Virat Kohli captioned his post.
The picture and the timing of the post – a Saturday morning while on a break from international cricket – made fans wonder whether Kohli too was retiring from T20Is, because the next T20 WC is in 2024 and he may not play it.
Here are some reactions of the fans who sparked retirement rumors of Virat Kohli:
