It was just a few days ago when Australian cricketer Pat Cummins stole everyone’s hearts with his noble deed. Pat Cummins, who is currently plying his trade for Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League, announced that he will be donating a sum of $50,000 to PM Cares Fund to help the country in battling against COVID-19.
For the unversed, Pat Cummins was bought for a record INR 15.5 crores in IPL 2020. He took to his Twitter and shared a long heart-touching post expressing his emotions on the ongoing situation in India. He also expressed his love for India and how the current situation saddens him.

Pat Cummins bagged much appreciation and received praises from all corners for his generous idea to lend a helping hand to India in this difficult time. However, there were many who wrote to Pat Cummins that he has made a mistake by donating it to PM Cares Fund as they believe that the funds in the PM Cares are not being channelized properly.
However, he has now taken a u-turn in his actions as he has allocated his funds to UNICEF Australia’s India COVID-19 Crisis Appeal.
Well, saddened by the situation of our nation, many big names and organizations are coming to donate funds to the country in providing essential medical facilities. In the same context, Cricket Australia has also extended its support to help India.
CA took to their official social media and announced they will throw their support behind India in this tough situation while being in association with the Australian Cricketer’s Association and UNICEF Australia. The generated funds will be further used by India for their medical equipment and for generating oxygen for critical patients.
Pat Cummins shared the tweet of Cricket Australia and announced the change in his donation. He wrote:
