PBKS vs DC: 3 Reasons Why Delhi Capitals Lost The Game

PBKS vs DC: 3 Reasons Why Delhi Capitals Lost The Game – The Punjab Kings beat the Delhi Capitals in a nail-biting match after chasing down a score of 175 runs with four wickets remaining. While Kuldeep Yadav showed off his bowling skills, Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone took front stage for Punjab Kings.

Sam Curran and Prabhsimran Singh got the Punjab Kings off to a strong start in the encounter. The quick dismissals of Prabhsimran and Shashank Singh, however, changed the course of the game. But then Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran came together, creating yet another pivotal partnership that helped Punjab Kings advance.

However, Delhi’s bowling duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel stood out. As a result of their tight bowling, the Punjab Kings had difficulties, as they allowed about six runs every over. With two vital wickets in his spell, Kuldeep kept Delhi’s hopes alive throughout the contest. The game became an exciting spectacle as it progressed, keeping spectators glued to their screens until the Punjab Kings finally prevailed, earning a victory that was justly theirs.

PBKS vs DC: 3 Reasons Why Delhi Capitals Lost The Game:

After DC’s defeat against PBKS, supporters were confused and wondered what went wrong. In this pivotal battle, DC failed for three obvious reasons:

Using Shai Hope and benching Prithvi Shaw

The first controversial move was to field Shai Hope instead of Prithvi Shaw, which backfired. They could have changed the game’s trajectory by adding another foreign bowler to their lineup if they had gone with Shaw. Nevertheless, they were left with few choices and their approach was revealed due to the strange decision to choose Hope.

Stumble in the middle order

Second, DC’s middle-order was unable to sustain the early success of Mitchell Marsh and David Warner, which caused the run rate to drop significantly. Following the early explosions, PBKS took charge of the match and dictated the tempo since their opponents failed to build on the groundwork that Marsh and Warner had already established.

Short of a bowler after using Abishek Porel as an impact sub

And finally, DC’s strategic substitution of Abishek Porel for an impact player left them short a bowler. Their bowling resources were depleted as a result of Porel’s powerful batting effort, which added some much-needed runs to the first innings. Because of this calculated risk, they were unable to defend their total using the impact sub in their bowling assault, which gave PBKS the upper hand.
