SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) young pacer Umran Malik has turned out to be one of the most talked-about players of the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, all thanks to his raw skills and lethal pace, clocking over 150 kmph. He has been among the few positives for the Hyderabad-based franchise after they got off to a slow start in IPL 2022.
On Sunday, during the game against Punjab Kings, Umran Malik was at it again as he hogged all the attention by putting up a stellar show with the bat. He didn’t let Punjab Kings score a single run in the final over of the game and not just this, he bagged three wickets as well. Yes, you read that right.
Umran Malik returned with his sensational form and stole the show in the death overs and finished with stupendous figures of 4-1-28-4. With this, Umran Malik also became the fourth bowler to bowl a maiden in the 20th over in the IPL.
The young pacer started his fiery over by dismissing Odean Smith. Following whom, he castled Rahul Chahar and Vaibhav Arora to find himself on a hat-trick. On the next ball, Punjab Kings picked another wicket but it came through a run-out.
After his fiery spell, Umran said that he enjoys bowling in scorching heat and is well accustomed to playing in such conditions. He said:
“Needs some time (to realise what he’s done). In Jammu, it usually gets to 47 or 48 degrees, so it doesn’t matter (the heat), it’s actually nice to play in this heat. I think I have got my line and length better over the last few days. The plan was to keep it full and straight, and in that channel just outside off,”
Meanwhile, fans on social media went berserk after the stunning performance of Umran Malik in the death overs. From cricketers, experts to pundits, everyone took to Twitter to hail the brilliance of the young talented bowler.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings’s managed to set an at-par target of 152 runs only against Sunrisers Hyderabad on a slow pitch at the DY Patil Sports Academy Mumbai. It will be interesting to see whether the team is able to chase down the target or not.
