Statement of Rahul Dravid After NZ’s Whitewash Proves Why He Is An Absolute Legend: The Indian cricket team thrashed the New Zealand cricket team by 73 runs in the third and the last t20I match of the 3-match series. Team India gave a clinical performance in all the departments of the game to complete a clean sweep in the series.

Riding on Rohit Sharma’s knock of 56-runs followed by Axar Patel’s 3-wicket haul, the Indian team was able to defeat the Kiwis in the third T20I.

Later, after the match, during the post-match presentation, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid said that he is happy with the performance of Men in Blue in the 3-match T20I series against New Zealand. However, he also said that one has to be realistic about the victory.

He stated how it’s not easy for NZ to play a World Cup final and then to turn up to play three games in six days. He said:

“It was a really good series win. Everyone played really well right through the series. It feels good, nice to start well. We are also quite realistic. We have to keep our feet on the ground and be a bit realistic about this win. Not easy for NZ to play a World Cup final and then to turn up three days later to play three games in six days, was never going to be easy for them. Nice from our perspective but we have to learn from this series and move forward,”

He also talked about the upcoming World Cup 2022 and he said that there is a long way ahead. He also backed youngsters for their performance. He said:

“It’s a long journey ahead over the next 10 months and we’ll have our share of ups and downs. It’s been really good to see some of the young guys come through. We have given the opportunity to some of the boys who haven’t played a lot of cricket over the last few months. We have seen some of the skills available to us and we have to keep building on those skills as we go forward,”
