Rajdeep Sardesai Slammed India For Playing With Fear Against Australia: The much-awaited India vs Australia World Test Championship 2023 Final, Day 1 kicked off on Wednesday, June 8 at the iconic Kennington Oval in London. However, all the excitement for the WTC Final ended just within a few hours of the gameplay.

On Day 1 of the Test match, team India won the toss and chose to bowl. The Indian bowlers failed miserably to restrict the Aussies and pick up wickets. As a result, the Aussies propel a score of 327/7 on Day 1, riding on the brilliant partnership of Travis Head and Steve Smith. The duo revived Australia 76/3 and stitched an unbroken 251-run fourth wicket stand to put their side on top.

On Day 2, the batters failed to live up to the expectations of the fans. Once again, in a must-win ICC final clash, India’s top-order collapsed with Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Virat Kohli failing to deliver when it was needed them the most. Not even one of the top-fours was able to cross the 20-run mark.

India is trailing Australia by a massive 318 runs with three days to go.

Rajdeep Sardesai Slammed India For Not Playing Fearlessly

Several former cricketers and experts stressed the lack of intensity as the reason behind India’s lackluster performance. Among many, famous journalist Rajdeep Sardesai also took to his social media and slammed the Indian cricket team for playing with fear against Australia.

In his Tweet, he highlighted how our Indian players have been too timid and defensive in their approach. He hoped for a comeback from team India on Day 3. He wrote:

“All set for day 3 of the #WTCFinal . India has back to the wall: need to play now with the one quality that’s been missing throughout the game: fearlessness. From winning the toss and choosing to field, we’ve been way too timid and defensive (exceptions, Siraj/Shami with ball, Jadeja with bat). That’s not how you defeat the Aussies. Hopefully, we will see a change in approach today. Keep the faith! 👍🇮🇳
