Rajdeep Sardesai Wrote The Best Tweet On Jasprit Bumrah’s Fiery Spell: India’s spearhead pacer Jasprit Bumrah was on fire during South Africa’s first innings in the Cape Town Test. The speedster dismissed four of the first 8 Protea wickets to fall keeping India in the game after a substandard show by the batsmen barring Virat Kohli.

After India had been bowled out for 223 on Day 1, the onus was on the bowlers once again to keep India in the hunt. Jasprit Bumrah, who took just one wicket in the second Test, drew first blood, dismissing South Africa’s best batsman and captain Dean Elgar late on Day 1. He gave India a solid start on Day 2 as well, casting the other opener, Aiden Markram.

After that, though, the stubborn Keegan Petersen held off one end and forged crucial partnerships with other batters. Whenever it had seemed that South Africa were gaining an upper hand, Indian pacers broke the stand to keep the match in the balance.

Umesh Yadav, who came in the eleven in place of the injured Mohammed Siraj, picked two wickets before Shami also bagged a brace. However, it needed a corker of a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah to get rid of Petersen, gone for a well-made gritty 72, after he had also bowled Marco Jansen.

Bumrah stood up to the task to send Petersen back in the dressing room which gave India the upper hand in the game as a lead in the first innings seemed likely now that Petersen was out of India’s way.

Veteran journalist and cricket lover Rajdeep Sardesai took to Twitter to shower praise on Jasprit Bumrah. Rajdeep Sardesai hailed the Gujarat-born fast bowler as the “Best bowler in the world” currently, over the likes of Pat Cummins, the number 1 Test bowler, and even compatriot Mohammed Shami.

Rajdeep Sardesai further opined that Bumrah is a strong contender to be placed in India’s all-time XI, and that he is among the best four pacers to have ever played for India, with the other three being Kapil Dev, Zaheer Khan, and Javagal Srinath/Shami.

Sardesai also reminded that the Indian fast bowling has come such a long way from the time when even Sunil Gavaskar had to open the bowling.

“Take a bow @Jaspritbumrah93 . Super spell in Cape Town. Best bowler in the world and a contender for an all time India XI. @therealkapildev , @ImZaheer Srinath/ @MdShami11 and Bumrah would be quite a pace quartet. And to think we once opened the bowling with Gavaskar!” tweeted Rajdeep Sardesai.
