Ramesh Srivats Slammed Ravi Shastri And Virat Kohli For Dropping R Ashwin

Many were left disappointed with India’s decision to leave off-spinner R Ashwin out of the playing XI for the first Test match against England. The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli decided to go with four bowlers in the playing XI, including Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Shardul Thakur, while Ravindra Jadeja was roped in as the lone spinner in the playing squad.

R Ashwin remains a very threatening prospect, be it overseas or at home. Over the years, he has taken wickets in a cluster and has gone to become the second-fastest player to take 400 Test wickets.

Ashwin also played an instrumental role in India’s Test series victory in Australia, where he was adjudged as the man of the series when England visited India earlier this year. Ashwin picked more than 20 wickets in four Tests and even registered a hundred as the hosts won the series 3-1. He was expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing series against England as well.

The thing that disappointed the fans the most was the fact that the cricketer played for Surrey in County Cricket to prepare for the ongoing series.

Meanwhile, the decision of excluding Ravi Ashwin from the playing XI has disappointed many. From cricketers, experts to fans, everyone took to their social media to express their disappointment with the decision.

Among many, Ramesh Srivats, who is a very popular businessman took to his twitter and slammed Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri for dropping Ravi Ashwin. In a series of tweets, Ramesh lashed out on Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri and expressed how all the batsmen are secure in their jobs while the bowlers aren’t. He wrote:

“Who gave Kohli the right to drop Ashwin? Seriously asking.”

“This has nothing to do with whether Thakur or Jadeja perform. It has everything to do with why all batsmen are secure in their jobs while the best bowlers aren’t.:

He added:

“Frankly, I’m sick of this duo just muscling their way to control India. Pick who you want. Drop who you don’t like. And btw, I’m talking about Kohli & Shastri.”
