Ranking The IPL Teams By Their Overall Win Percentage

The Indian Premier League is one of the most popular professional T20 cricket leagues in India. Played by 8 teams representing different cities of India, the IPL was originally started in 2007 by the Board of Control For Cricket (BCCI). All players of all the teams have reached taking all the safety measures in this ongoing pandemic situation. This is the thirteenth season of IPL, which is set to begin on September 19 in the UAE.
Before heading towards the most awaited event, let us have a look at the team’s rankings according to their win percentage in all these 12 years.

Chennai Super Kings (61.28%)

The team which has outperformed in all IPL seasons even in the win percent rate is none other than the Chennai Super Kings. By winning 100 matches out of 165, they have a win percent of 61.28. The team was out of the league for 2 years still they rank first.




Mumbai Indians (57.75%)

The four-time IPL and two-time CLT20 champions Mumbai Indians rank second in this list. They have won 107 matches out of 187, with a win percentage of 57.75. The Indian vice-captain and the Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is all ready to defend the trophy this year.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (53.70%)

Sunrisers Hyderabad were included in the league from 2013. They have won 57 matches out of 108, keeping a win percentage of 53.70. They rank third in this table. The SRH would like to win the title once again this season.

Kolkata Knight Riders (52.52%)

The two-time IPL winner ranks fourth in the list. Having won 92 matches out 0f 179, they have a win percentage of 52.52. The team is led by Dinesh Karthik, and has no dearth of talent.

Rajasthan Royals (51.37%)




The team was banned for two years in 2016 and 2017, but still have managed to rank fifth in the list. They have won 73 matches out of 147, keeping the win percent 51.37. The team is led under the captaincy of Australian Cricketer Steve Smith.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (47.45%)

The team led by our Indian Cricket team Captain Virat Kohli have won 83 matches out of 181 keeping the wn percentage 47.45. They haven’t won a trophy till now but surely will give their best to level up in the upcoming season of IPL.

Kings XI Punjab (46.02%)

This franchise has won 80 games out of 176 and haven’t managed to win even a single trophy. They thus rank seventh in the list. The team is led by Indian cricketer K.L. Rahul. The team will look to have a better showing this year.

Delhi Capitals ( 44 %)

By winning only 76 matches out of 177, Delhi capitals ranks last in the table with an win percentage of 44. The team is led by Shreyas Iyer, and has shown great potential last year. They would be hoping to win the title this year.
