Yesterday night the PCA Stadium of Mohali witnessed ‘Gaylestorm’. Last night, Chris Gayle gave some thrilling performance in the match between Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
It was an absolute eye treat for the fans of Universe Boss to watch him play the way he did last night. He remained unbeaten at the score of 104 runs in 63 balls and made the ball reach to the audience 11 times. He smashed some crazy 11 sixes and 1 four.
It was Gayle’s huge contribution to the match last night, which helped his team to win the third match of the tournament out of the four matches they have played. And not just that, they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad, who before this match had won all the previous matches they had played. It was indeed a great win for the team.
According to the captain of KXIP, Ravichandran Ashwin, Chris took the game away from SRH. He said:
“Chris batted well and took it away from them. There are players like these to entertain, that’s why the crowd is turning up. Chris batted beautifully,”
Apart from this, Ashwin also revealed how Chris Gayle is different from the other players on the ground. He says Chris has the ability to deliver length shots with so much ease. he said:
“Chris just punches a back of a length delivery out of the ground — that’s the difference between him and other batsmen. It’s hard to replicate, and when it comes off, it’s brilliant,”
Well, we can’t agree more. This is one of the reason why he is called ‘Universe Boss’ by his fans.
