Former Australian captain and batting legend Ricky Ponting, who is known for his deep knowledge of the game and mental foresight, has been giving his insights during the ongoing Ashes series as a commentator. On Saturday, Ponting grabbed all the limelight as he left everyone in shock with his on-point commentary during the ongoing second Ashes Test match.

Well, while commentating on Saturday during the ongoing second Ashes Test match, Ricky Ponting perfectly predicted the dismissal of batsman Camaron Green. The incident took place during the 112th over on Day 2 of the 2nd Ashes Test in Adelaide when Ponting accurately predicted the dismissal just before England all-rounder Ben Stokes delivered the ball that got him out.

Just before the delivery that got him out, the veteran cricketer had said: “Green’s stumps will be targeted by England bowlers because of his open batting stance,”

He added:

“Very distinct change of tactics for the new batsman Cameron Green. They will get a lot fuller and straighter, they will target his stumps. Have a look at how he sets up in his stance. He sets up with a very open front foot. That is generally a sign of someone who is very worried about getting LBW, doesn’t want to get their front foot too far across into the line of his stumps,”

The video of Ricky Ponting’s spot-on prediction has been making rounds on social media. India’s sensational spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who shares a close bond with Ricky Ponting, having played under his coaching in the IPL for Delhi Capitals, also took to Twitter and hailed the legend.

Sharing the video, Ashwin wrote “Cricket literacy rate” with two airplane emojis, indicating that it was sky-high.
