[Watch] Ravi Bishnoi Bowled A Very Clever Googly To Paul Stirling

Young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi made an instant impact with the ball by knocking over Ireland captain Paul Stirling on just the second ball he bowled today in Dublin in the first of the 3-T20I series.

One of the most impressive young spinners in India, Bishnoi, aged 22, has gained a reputation for bowling more googlies than leg-breaks, and he struck out the Ireland skipper with a sharp googly.

Stirling is one of the most destructive T20 openers in the world; so getting his wicket, and that too inside the powerplay, was a big dent made by the young spinner to the hosts.

With Ireland scoring just 27 runs in the first five overs, Stirling’s intentions of going after the young, inexperienced leg-spinner were predictable. But Bishnoi, who has the experience of bowling in the powerplay in his IPL career of four seasons, was ready for the challenge.

He fired in a quick googly outside off-stump that turned into the stumps sharply. Stirling went for an expansive shot on the off-side. He misread the googly and left a big gap between his pad and bat and the ball thundered into the off-stump. Ravi Bishnoi stood with his arms spread out in a silent celebration as Stirling walked back with his bat tucked under his arm.

Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and elected to field first. Returning after 10 months, Bumrah struck twice in his first over, before another returning pacer, Prasidh Krishna, dismissed Tector.
