Sources close to the Board of Control for Cricket in India have revealed that Ravi Shastri will soon be named as India’s coach. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, BCCI wanted an Indian coach and there hunt ended when India’s Test captain insisted that he wants Ravi Shastri to work with the team in that capacity rather than being a team director.

Virat Kohli shares a very good relationship with Ravi Shastri, who always backs Kohli’s style of playing cricket. Even as the team director, Shastri always praised Kohli’s aggressive brand of playing cricket and said his enthusiasm and aggression will lead to better performance in overseas Test matches.

Reportedly, he is set to become the highest paid coach in the world of cricket. The decision is likely to be formally announced at the conclusion of the Bangladesh tour. This announcement will make Ravi Shastri the highest paid cricket coach in the world.

Ravi Shastri, who was making about Rs 4 crore a year as a commentator, will be paid Rs 6.4 crore a year by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This will make Ravi Shastri the highest paid coach in the world of cricket. Former coach Fletcher was being paid a handsome 4.2 crore by the BCCI.
