Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri slammed the former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir and batting maestro Virat Kohli after their recent spat and said that a stern warning should be issued.
Well, after the LSG vs RCB game on 1st May, Monday, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir grabbed all the headlines as both men were involved in a verbal spat. Veteran Indian batter Kohli and former India opener Gambhir were involved in an ugly face-off after the game. The ugly spat’s foundation was laid by Naveen-ul-Haw in the 17th over of the game.
Ravi Shastri on Gautam Gambhir And Virat Kohli’s fight

Meanwhile, speaking on Cricinfo, Shastri commented on the matter and said personnel from the governing council or BCCI should take the initiative and talk to all parties involved and nip it in the bud with a strict warning.
“I think here someone from the governing council or the BCCI should take the initiative where all parties involved are called upfront. And whatever has been said or whatever the history, get in there and nip it in the bud and with a stern warning. Such kind of actions on live television will not be tolerated, especially after a game.”
“No big fuss about it. Whoever, the concerned people are. Whether it is Gautam Gambhir, whether it is Virat Kohli, whether it is Naveen-ul-Haq, whether it is somebody else. Chaar ka chaar ko lao saamne.”
He added: “Right in front of the person from the management or from the BCCI or the governing council and have a direct conversation. ‘Yes, we understand in the heat of the moment things do happen. But there’s a line. And I’m afraid you guys crossed the line. So whatever, you guys have to say sort it now, because it won’t be tolerated in the future,”
Shastri feels that a stern warning will diffuse the fire with the people concerned but this is the best way to do it. Shastri also said that the governing personnel should just look at the visuals they saw of the fight and show it to the people involved as well. He said:
“Leave all that aside. You’re coming from an angle where, we don’t want to know what was said. We’re seeing a picture. The broadcaster is showing a picture and the world is seeing that. No one knows what you’re saying or what he is saying. And show them the visual. This is what the world saw,”
Shastri on fine imposed on Kohli and Gambhir
Shastri also talked about the fine imposed on Kohli, Gambhir, and Naveen. He said that was the best way to give a stern warning after the fight.
“That’s the best way you can give a stern warning, and I mean in many ways, a wrap on the knuckles, as if to say we’re not happy with what happened,”
When asked about the history between Kohli and Gambhir, Shastri said:
“If I have to put myself in their shoes, and if I was irritated with any bloke, I would have left it for a final of the IPL and then taken off it need be,”
