The excitement among fans has already reached its peak, regarding the much-awaited upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, which will take place in the UAE. Every season, the tournament comes up with new sets of discussions, debates, and controversies alongside it. And this time ‘Mankading’ has become the red hot topic.
Ravichandran Ashwin Reveals He Spoke To Ricky Ponting About The ‘Mankading’ Issue On Phone
Several cricketers and cricket pundits have been coming up with their opinions on this matter. Recently, the head coach of Delhi Capitals Ricky Ponting was asked about his views on Mankading, he claimed that he will talk to R Ashwin asking him to not indulge in it, as it is against the spirit of the game. He had said:
“I’ll be having a chat with him about (Mankading), that’s the first thing I’ll do. That is going to be a hard conversation I will have with him. I think, even him, looking back now, probably he’d say it was within the rules and he’s right to do it.”

Now Ravichandran Ashwin has finally reacted to the statements and he revealed that he has already had a conversation with Ricky Ponting. Well, while speaking on the first episode of his Youtube show ‘Hello Dubaiahh?’, Ravichandran Ashwin said that Ricky Ponting is yet to reach Dubai but the team will sit down with him for a chat once he arrives. Ashwin also revealed how he had a conversation with Ricky Ponting over the phone.  He said:
“Ricky Ponting hasn’t yet reached (Dubai). After he comes, we will sit for a chat with him. He said he wants to have a conversation. We have already spoken over the phone. It was a very interesting chat,”

Though Ashwin didn’t give too many details about his call with Ricky but he said that sometimes the words from the Australians get lost in translations. He said:
“What happens sometimes is Australians’ messages in English get lost in translation and reach us with a different meaning. Even some of their jokes become news. That’s what it is and next week I will reveal a bit more about my conversation with Ricky,”
Meanwhile, the much-awaited league will kick off from September 19th with the final to be played on November 10th. Delhi Capitals will be hoping to win their first-ever title this year.
