The Indian cricket team fought their way back to register a stunning win in the 2nd Test match against Bangladesh in Dhaka. Chasing a target of 145 runs, the Indian side was on the verge of losing the game after Mehidy Hasan Miraz got a five-wicket haul and dismantled India’s batting line-up. However, India’s spin wizard Ravichandran Ashwin and middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer joined hands and turned the tables for India.
Both the players rose to the occasion and stitched an unbeaten 71-run partnership and helped the Indian side register a win by 3 wickets. With this win, the Indian side has managed to whitewash Bangladesh 2-0 in the series.
Ravichandran Ashwin walked in after Axar Patel has just been dismissed and the score read 74/7. The loss could have been a major embarrassment for India, however, half an hour later, Ashwin’s bat started to talk and the situation took a 360-degree turn. Ashwin (42 off 62) had forged a match-winning stand with Shreyas Iyer (29 off 46) and bailed India out of an embarrassing situation.
Ravi Ashwin Trolled A Sri Lankan Journalist
Meanwhile, social media has been buzzing with amazing reactions and Tweets for the senior cricketer. While several current and former cricketers took to Twitter to express their emotions and congratulate Ashwin for his amazing cameo, however, a Sri Lankan journalist tried to mock Ashwin by writing how the Player of the Match trophy to Mominul Haque, who had dropped Ashwin during his knock.
For the unversed, during Ashwin’s knock, Mominul Haque who was fielding at the short leg dropped Ashwin on 1 when India was on 80 and needed 65 more runs to win. This turned out to be the turning point of the match.
Taking a dig at Ravichandran Ashwin, the journalist wrote: “You should have handed this 🏆 to Mominul Haque, Who dropped that dolly.. had he bagged it, India all out for 89 for sure.. 😃 @ashwinravi99″
Ashwin was quick to notice the Tweet and come up with an epic reply to it. In his reply, Ashwin gave it back to the arrogant Sri Lankan journalist. He replied: “Oh no ! I thought I blocked you, oh sorry that’s the other guy. 🤔🤔🤔 what’s his name?? Yes Daniel Alexander that’s the name !!
