Indian star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been receiving praises from all corners for his stunning performance in the ongoing 1st Test match against England. The cricketer has been in red-hot form for a long time and has been giving some terrific all-rounding performances. If we look at the stats of Jadeja before 2019 and since 2019, we will get a clear picture of how good the Indian all-rounder has been in the last two years, in the longest format of the game.
On Friday, he added another feather to his already illustrious cap as he became the fifth Indian cricketer and the fifth-fastest in the world to achieve the double of scoring 2000 Test runs and picking up 200 wickets.
Ravindra Jadeja once again played a crucial knock for team India in the first innings. He scored a crucial l half-century after India lost in-form KL Rahul for 84. His knock of 56 runs off 86 deliveries paced up India’s innings towards the end. His knock was laced with eight fours and a six before losing his wicket to Ollie Robinson.
With this knock, Jadeja joined an elite list that featured some legendary cricketers including the likes of Ian Botham, Kapil Dev, Imran Khan, and R Ashwin as the five fastest cricketers to have achieved the double of 2000 Test runs and 200 Test wickets.
Jadeja reached the milestone in 53 Tests. He is behind Botham (42), Kapil (50), Imran (50), and teammate Ashwin (51).
Meanwhile, as Jadeja achieved this feat, fans on social media went berserk and started showering praises on Sir Jadeja. However, there were many who started trolling Sanjay Manjrekar left, right and center.
For the unversed, it is no secret that Sanjay Manjrekar doesn’t rate Ravindra Jadeja highly. Time and again, Manjrekar has taken shots at Jadeja. Therefore, when Jadeja achieved this milestone, people on social media started trolling the former cricketer.
