Perhaps the most trending overseas player after the WPL 2024 auction was England’s Kate Cross. Although she was bought for a low price of INR 30 lakh, which was her base price, by RCB, it was her allegiance with the men’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise and her support to the team in yellow that was a funny talking point for the fans, and Cross’ former England teammate and friend Alex Hartley.

Alex Hartley and Kate Cross had a hilarious banter on social media after she was bought by RCB as the latter’s past tweet showing her support for CSK and her selfie in a CSK jersey went viral.

I am still supporting CSK in men’s: Kate Cross

After the auction, Kate Cross attended the ‘No Balls: The Cricket Podcast’, in which she said that she will continue to support the CSK men’s team, pointing out that there is no women’s team of CSK.

“My Twitter has blown up. And my historic Tweet slating RCB because I support CSK in men’s team (IPL) and they are big rivals of RCB. All my Tweets are coming off my timeline. And I am sorry for everything I have said in the past, RCB,” Kate Cross said.

“No, I am definitely not doing that. I am still supporting CSK in men’s. Let me put that out. I will always support CSK in men’s. However CSK doesn’t have women’s team but I am game and pretty mean.”

RCB has roped in Cross after releasing Australia’s Megan Schutt.
