RR vs RCB: Royal Challengers Bangalore’s wonderful journey in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League came to an end on a heartbreaking note as they were defeated by Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the second qualifier. The defeat at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium has crushed all their hopes of lifting their maiden IPL trophy in the ongoing season. RCB’s wait for their maiden title grows even longer.

Though, the Faf du Plessis-led side was in great spirits after a thrilling win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator round but Rajasthan Royals were a better team last night as they registered a comfortable victory to qualify for the final showdown, where they will face Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday (May 29).

Jos Buttler was once again the star of the night as he played a match-winning knock of 106* runs to assist Rajasthan to hunt down 158 with seven wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare.

It has to be noted that this is the first time that they have qualified for the IPL final since they won the title in the inaugural edition (2008) under Shane Warne’s captaincy. Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner passed away earlier this year due to a suspected heart attack in Thailand.

Therefore, following the match, Royal Challengers Bangalore via their official Twitter account paid a heartfelt Tweet to honor Shane Warne, which has won the hearts of many on social media. RCB wrote:
