One of the biggest arguments that a lot of detractors have about Virat Kohli’s current team is the fact that he has a lot of players from RCB featuring in the team. This means that seniors in the squad, including Ashwin and Jadeja have had to contend themselves with a place out as they have been rested.

Is There A RCB Quota In Indian Cricket Under Virat Kohli?

This has obviously become a topic for debate amongst many former players and other pundits. However, one thing that is being proven is that the RCB boys (RCB quota) are actually standing up and making themselves count.

Good performances:

The strong performances of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kedar Jadhav have proven that the two deserve to start for the team. Though KL Rahul has missed out, he has shown that he deserves his spot in the Test squad and his limited overs form might just be temporary. Kohli’s captaincy of the IPL team means that a lot of people feel that these players are getting a free run in the team.

Chahal and Jadhav have proven their worth for the team. First, in the Sri Lanka series, Chahal picked wickets whenever he played and Jadhav completed it with a strong half century in the last match.

Chahal also bought his best game against the Australians as he picked up 3 crucial wickets to derail the Australian chase, including the important one of Glenn Maxwell. Jadhav also played a useful 40 runs to show that he can prove to be useful.

Dhoni similarities:

Even when MS Dhoni was the captain of the CSK, India featured a lot players from the franchise including Ravindra Jadeja, Suresh Raina, Ashwin, Vijay and Mohit Sharma. The issue was not as blown out of proportion as it is now. A few of the players went on to have successful careers and are still crucial parts of the team and this new set of RCB players will also look to emulate that.
