RCB vs RR: Royal Challengers Bangalore is hosting the table toppers of IPL 2023, Rajasthan Royals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 23 in the first match of the doubleheader on Sunday. RCB is currently in sixth place on the IPL standings with six points from as many games. On the other hand, Sanju Samson-led side is sitting at the top of the points table with 8 points from six matches and will be looking to consolidate their lead at the top.
Rajasthan Royals Won The Toss And Opted To Bowl First

RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss & opted to bowl first. Samson was quite optimistic that RR’s bowling unit would restrict RCB to a decent score. He said:
“We’ll bowl first. Looking at the conditions, our side and their side. So we’d prefer bowling. The dressing room is simple, honest and we need to respect the way we are playing. We are starting with the same XI, might add someone later on,”
Batting superstar Virat Kohli will captain RCB again for the second time in the ongoing season. At the toss, Kohli made it clear that the side wanted to bat first anyway. He stated that the management wanted him to lead the side for a couple of matches. RCB made one change as David Willey came in place of Wayne Parnell. Kohli also mentioned that Faf will continue to play as an impact player. He said:
“It was pretty easy to choose, we’d have batted first. This wicket looks dry and it will get drier and might break up first. I didn’t say that to Sanju, but I’m very happy to bat first. We both get to do what we wanted. They informed me last time saying I might have to captain a couple of games, nothing I’m not used to doing. So I’m happy to step in, ready to continue from whatever Faf has been doing.”
He added: “The team has responded well, we are playing with a lot of energy and that showed in the last game. One change for us, Wayne Parnell is out and he will be replaced by David Willey. Faf continues to play as an impact sub,”
