Reason Why Harshal Patel Got Ruled Out Of 2nd & 3rd T20I vs WI: The Indian cricket team is currently locking its horns with West Indies in the ongoing 5-match T20I series. Leading the ongoing series with 1-0, the Men in Blue will be aiming to win all the upcoming matches and seal the series with a win.

Harshal Patel Ruled Out Of 2nd & 3rd T20I Vs WI

For the second game in a row, Indian bowler Harshal Patel was missing from India’s playing XI during the ongoing series. After missing out on the series opener at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium, Harshal was expected to play in the 2nd T20I match at Werner Park in St. Kitts on Monday (August 1).

However, to everyone’s dismal, he was not named in the playing XI of the 2nd T20I match. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the reason behind his absence from the squad. The governing body of cricket in India stated that Harshal is suffering from a rib injury and was ruled out of the 2nd T20I match because of the same.

The BCCI also confirmed that Harshal has been ruled out of the 3rd T20I against West Indies as well, which is scheduled to take place at the same venue tomorrow (August 2). A satement issued by the BCCI after West Indies won the toss, read:

“Team News – Harshal Patel has a rib injury and is unavailable for selection for the 2nd and 3rd T20I. He is being monitored by the BCCI medical team,”
