Former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket, is regarded as one of the most successful keeper-batsmen around the world. Besides his impeccable cricketing skills, MS Dhoni is known for his cool as a cucumber and humble personality. However, there have been rare occasions when ‘Captain Cool’ has let it rip. The way MS Dhoni controls his emotions is something praise-worthy.

Recently, talking to news.com.au the head coach of Delhi Capitals Ricky Ponting pointed out the traits that make MS Dhoni popular among his teammates. Lauding the traits of MS Dhoni, Ricky Ponting said that he never seems to let his emotions get better of him. As per him, he could never control his emotions like MS. He said:
“He [MS Dhoni] never seems to let his emotions get the better of him, which is a really good trait in a leader — as hard as I tried when I was on the field, I could never quite stay in complete control of my emotions.”
Ricky Ponting also lauded Dhoni’s ability to get the best of his players. He said:
“Indian teams always seemed to lift when he was captain. He always seemed to have this knack to be able to get the best out of his players. You knew that he had things under control”

Expressing his excitement for a match against Chennai Super Kings, the coach of Delhi Capitals – Ricky Ponting said:
“Chennai has been one of the most consistently strong and competitive teams in the IPL, and a lot of that’s down to his [MS Dhoni’s] leadership as well. I’m looking forward to coaching against him now and making sure he doesn’t win any game off his own bat when Chennai play the Delhi Capitals.”
The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League will kickstart from September 19th in UAE.
