Young Indian cricketer Rinku Singh is a part of the Indian cricket team for the three-match series against Ireland that will be played between August 18-23.
Rinku Singh impressed one and all with his impressive performances in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. His heroics in IPL 2023 will be remembered for ages to come. The star batter made the impossible possible for his team Kolkata Knight Riders during the IPL 2023. However, one of his most memorable knocks came in a game against Gujarat Titans, where he smashed five sixes in a row in the last five balls to seal an incredible win for KKR.
All thanks to his incredible performances, alls for Rinku’s inclusion in Team India grew loud. And now Rinku Singh will finally make his debut against Ireland.
Rinku Singh was not included in the recently concluded T20I series against West Indies which surprised many. However, he is one of the many new faces who are a part of the Indian squad for the upcoming three-match series against Ireland.
Rinku Singh Recalled His Maiden Team India Call-Up Moment
Meanwhile, recently, the BCCI shared a video of Rinku Singh and Jitesh’s journey from India to Ireland. During their journey, Jitesh Sharma had a fun interview session with Rinku who spoke about his excitement on his maiden call-up for the Indian cricket team.
Rinku Singh was asked about his first-ever tour with the Indian cricket team. Responding to this, he said:
“It’s a nice feeling. Every player’s dream is to play for India. When I reached my room and saw the Team India jersey with number 35 printed on it I became very happy and emotional.”
He added: “seeing the hard work finally paying off was a very satisfying, moment for me as well.”
Further, Rinku Singh recalled the moment when he first got to know about his maiden call-up in the Indian team for the Ireland tour. He said:
“I was in Noida, where I practiced. I was with friends when the team was announced. It felt really good when I saw my name in the squad. Then I called my mother. She used to say you have to play for India. So her dream came true and so did mine”.
“It is a dream of every player to represent India. When I saw my India jersey, it was a great feeling. I got emotional,” Rinku added.
