Lord Rinku Singh has finally arrived in international cricket. The young batter from Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh, who is still remembered for his heroics for his team Kolkata Knight Riders during the IPL 2023, picked up in international cricket from where he left in the Indian Premier League 2023 as he was adjudged the Player of the Match for his incredible performance in the 2nd T20I match against Ireland.

Rinku Singh Gave A Stellar Finish To Innings

Rinku Singh, who revels in scoring quick runs at the end, gave a brilliant finish to the innings. He walked out at bat at number 5 in the second T20I game. He started his innings slow but soon he switched gears and smashed the bowlers to all the corners of the ground. He displayed some insane power-hitting skills and accelerated from 15* (15) to 38 within the next six balls.

Singh provided the Indian cricket team with an explosive finish as the team ended their first innings on a strong 185/5 in Dublin. During his stellar knock of 38 runs off 21 balls, smashing 2 fours and 3 sixes. All thanks to his superb finish, Rinku Singh was awarded with the Player of the Match title.

Later, after India’s win, speaking at the post-match conference, Rinku Singh talked about his performance and expressed how his knock was a result of his hard work of over a decade. He said:

“I am feeling very good. I was trying to do what I have done in the IPL. I was very confident and tried to stay calm. I listen to the captain (smiles). I am feeling very nice. I have been playing for 10 years. All my efforts have born fruition. I am happy to get the Man of the Match award in my first game.”

Meanwhile, Rinku Singh struck at 180.95 and it is the second-highest strike rate for an Indian player in his debut innings in T20Is for India. Rinku is just behind Suryakumar Yadav, who struck at 183.87 in his debut innings against England in 2021.
