VIDEO – Rishabh Pant Channeled His Inner MS Dhoni To Get Rid Of Jos Buttler

Rishabh Pant had a magical performance in his 100th match for the Delhi Capitals (DC). He felt lucky throughout the game as everything he did, including winning the toss and making changes, turned out to be successful.

He surpassed himself by channeling his inner MS Dhoni and taking the wicket of Rajasthan Royals skipper Jos Buttler. Kuldeep Yadav trapped Buttler in front, although initially, it seemed like the ball was pitching outside the leg stump. Umpire Nand Kishore also thought so and ruled Buttler not out.

Buttler initially received a not-out decision, but Kuldeep’s persistence convinced Pant to use the Decision Review System (DRS). To the surprise of Buttler and the umpire, the replays showed that the ball was pitching in line with the stumps, and all three red lights appeared on the screen, indicating that the ball would hit the stumps.

Buttler was disappointed as he had to walk back to the pavilion, while the Delhi Capitals celebrated Pant’s clever review. With Rajasthan Royals at 36/3 in just 7.2 overs, Pant’s decisive review put the Capitals in a commanding position.

Earlier during the toss, Pant expressed his happiness about playing 100 matches in the IPL. “Feels good to play 100 matches for the same franchise, but every game is important for me,” Pant said at the toss ahead of the momentous occasion.

Pant’s century also marks a significant milestone for Delhi Capitals, as he becomes the first player in the franchise’s history to achieve this feat. He joins a select group of players who have reached this milestone for their respective teams, including Suresh Raina for CSK, Harbhajan Singh for MI, Virat Kohli for RCB, Gautam Gambhir for KKR, Ajinkya Rahane for RR, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for SRH.

Furthermore, Pant surpasses Amit Mishra’s record of 99 matches to become the first Delhi player to reach the landmark of 100 IPL matches. Since his debut in 2016, Pant has been a consistent performer for Delhi Capitals, winning over fans with his aggressive batting style and reliable wicketkeeping skills.
