Star Indian keeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who is currently recovering from multiple injuries that he sustained in a car accident last year, is taking huge steps toward making his international comeback. Indian fans rejoiced after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) last month informed that Rishabh Pant resumed his batting practice.

Now according to the latest media reports, Pant has finally resumed batting in the nets at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and is facing fast bowers too.

On December 30th, Rishabh Pant’s car crashed on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, with the wicketkeeper batter suffering major burns and injuries on his body. However, it has to be noted that despite having resumed his batting and keeping, the return date for Pant still seems quite far away. But if a report is to be believed, Pant is showing good signs of progress during his progress sessions.

Earlier, when Pant resumed batting, he was only facing throwdowns. But now, making huge progress, Pant has started batting against deliveries with a speed of up to 140 KPH. As per a report by ReVSportz, Pant is facing no issues while playing fast bowlers in the nets. He has also started keeping wickets. The medical staff, who is keeping a close eye on Pant is not stressing him with too much of glovework practice.

Pant Is Expected To Make His Return To Test Cricket In January

While this news is heartening for the caretakers of Indian cricket and fans as well. However, Pant returning to team India before World Cup 2023 is highly unlikely.

The BCCI medical staff who are working on Pant’s recovery believe that Pant will be able to make big movements in a couple of months. It is expected that Rishabh Pant will make a comeback in the Test series next year against England which will kickstart in the month of January.
