Former India captain and current CSK skipper MS Dhoni turned 42 on July 7, 2023. And wishes have been pouring in from all corners for the only international captain to have won all three ICC white-ball trophies – ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup, and Champions Trophy; in addition to this Mahendra Singh Dhoni also launched India to the number 1 Test ranking in 2009/10.
Among the millions of wishes, one special wish came from Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s wicket-keeper finisher deputy of the Indian team – Rishabh Pant.
Rishabh Pant is currently rehabbing at the NCA in Bangalore, but the 26-year-old didn’t forget his Mahi bhai’s birthday. He bought a miniature cricket field cake and cut it with other players and staff at the NCA and wrote a heartwarming caption.
“Happy birthday Mahi bhai đź’• aap toh ho nhi pass aapke liye cake cut leta hun mai . Happy birthday ❤️ @mahi7781,” Rishabh Pant captioned his post with a cake in the picture.

More recently, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and CSK equaled Rohit Sharma and Mumbai Indians’ tally of five IPL titles while playing 2 fewer seasons than their El Clasico rivals.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been the heartbeat of the fans for a long time, more so since his international retirement as that limited him to only IPL appearances. And while every year, there is speculation that that year’s IPL season would be his last, the Ranchi-born turns up again next year to unfurl his magic. There was a strong feeling that the IPL 2023 will be last IPL season – especially as CSK returned to Chennai to play their home matches and even won the title – but Mahendra Singh Dhoni remained mostly mum about it and then underwent knee surgery – with which he battled throughout the season – and is likely to turn up for IPL 2024.
Meanwhile, Pant is ongoing a recovery process for the injuries he sustained in the car accident last year.
Will Rishabh Pant play in World Cup 2023?
No, Pant will not be fit in time to play in the World Cup 2023. He will return to action only next year.
